Where to Apply for a Visa

Visa applications must be submitted to the competent Consular jurisdiction in which the applicant has their place of permanent residence.

 

a) SCHENGEN “C” VISA (up to 90 days)

All applicants for a Type “C” Schengen visa must submit their application through one of the Visa Application Centers (IVACs) within the relevant consular jurisdiction, by making a prior appointment. The Visa Application Centers serving the Consulate General of Italy in Chongqing are located in the following three cities: Chongqing, Chengdu and Kunming. Applicants who do not reside within this consular jurisdiction may refer, depending on their place of residence, to the Embassy of Italy or to the Consulates General/Visa Application Centers (IVACs) in BeijingCantonShanghai, and/or to the Visa Application Centers located in the following cities: Beijing, Changsha, Fuzhou, Guangzhou, Hangzhou, Nanjing, Shanghai and Shenzhen.

Chinese citizens resident in Hong Kong or Macao shall submit visa application at the Consulate General of Italy in Hong Kong.

 

ADS Tourism groups:

According to EU-China Memorandum of Understandings, ADS (Approved Status Destination) group tourism visa applications are submitted by accredited travel agencies. Appointments for fingerprints capture will be scheduled for the whole group of travellers.

Travel agencies aiming to apply for accreditation (white badge) must follow procedures according to the Manual of Sanctions related to ADS (LINK). For further information, please send an e-mail to: chongqing.visti@esteri.it

 

b) NATIONAL “D” VISA (from 91 to 365 days)

All applicants for a TYPE “D” – NATIONAL visa must book an appointment through the Prenot@mi portal.

Requests for a National Visa (type “D” – from 91 to 365 days) must be submitted directly to the Consulate Desk, by making a prior appointment.
