Please be informed that from 01:00 on 13 February 2026 until 07:00 on 18 February 2026, the VIS operating system will be subject to a temporary shutdown.
This is a scheduled and urgent technical intervention that will entail the temporary suspension of activities related to the receipt and processing of visa applications, as well as the issuance of entry visas. This suspension will affect the operations of both the Visa Office of the Consulate General of Italy in Chongqing and the centers managed by the outsourced service provider in Chongqing, Chengdu, and Kunming.
In order to minimize inconvenience to users, appointments that have already been scheduled will be rescheduled to the days immediately before or after the period affected by the operational shutdown, giving due consideration to priority needs and urgent cases.
