The Consular Chancellery of the Italian Embassy in Beijing based on Circular no. 107/1997 of the Ministry of Transport provides for the renewal of driving licenses. However, it is not possible to request the issuance of a driving licence.
In order to request the renewal of their driving licence, Italian citizens residing abroad and registered with AIRE in the consular district must:
request a medical certificate from one of the Embassy’s trusted doctors to verify the existence of the legal psycho-physical requirements. The cost of the certificate is borne by the interested party;
present yourself at the Consular Office with the medical certificate, the expired driving license (not more than five years ago) and two recent passport photos.
To renew your driving license it is necessary to pay the stamp duty (16 euros) and the driving license confirmation (41 euros), for a total of 57 euros.
